Kirk Pleasant, R.Ac.
Kirk Pleasant, R.Ac. is a registered acupuncturist with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia. Kirk has a special interest in treating age-related disorders which stems from his lengthy volunteer service at a downtown eastside Vancouver hospice. Additionally, as a father of two, he has a keen interest in pediatrics. The treatments available at Balance Acupuncture usually involve an initial consultation, which consists of about half an hour of questioning, followed by an hour treatment. Subsequent treatments last approximately one hour. The treatments are all uniquely arranged according to each patient's individual condition. What sets TCM and acupuncture apart is it's insistance that each person has their own unique patterns. The therapies available are: acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, heat-lamp, tui-na massage, gwashi, acupressure, reflexology, and/or reiki.
Reiki is offered free upon request as an adjunct therapy to acupuncture. Periodic workshops are held where the various levels of reiki are taught by Kirk Pleasant. In addition to being an acupuncturist and reiki-master, he holds a ni-dan second degree black belt in Goju Karate and teaches karate classes in the clinic on Wednesdays at 5:30pm.
