Tomomi Shibuya R.Ac, R.TCMp

Registered acupuncturist and herbalist, registered TCM practitioner

Tomomi Shibuya graduated from The International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Vancouver.  She usually combines Japanese moxa with acupuncture.

Moxa cones are made of the medicinal herb, mugwort. It's placed on the skin and lit up to give pleasant warmth.  The moxa is left until it's removed when 80% burned, thus leaving no scar or burning sensation. A Japanese study shows moxa improves movement and increases the number of white blood cells, and enhances blood circulation. For these properties moxa effectively treats various inflammatory conditions such as seasonal allergies, rheumatoid arthritis, digestive problems, joint, muscle and nerve pain, gynecological problems and so on.

Tomomi works on Sundays from 9:00am to 7:00.

Jean-Sébastien Le Doujet, R.Ac.

Jean-Sébastien grew up in France in a family that believed Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is more than just a “last resort” therapy, but rather an important part of our daily life. TCM being originally more preventative than curative, it makes sense that we should apply it all the time, and not just when we are dis-eased.

Most times when a family member was sick, his parents would first use TCM and massage, and if need be, go towards more modern medicines. But it really is the philosophy and the perspective on what health is according to Chinese Medicine that got Jean-Sébastien interested in studying TCM.

He first studied Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in France (French/Vietnamese “Association les 5 elements”) with Daniel Laurent, Traditional Acupuncturist, writer and teacher who followed the path of his mentors Jack Worley (Lemington Spa College, UK) and André Faubert.  Once in Canada he joined the International College of TCM of Vancouver where he completed the 3-year Acupuncturist program in less than 2 years.  He is now a Registered Acupuncturist in Vancouver BC (CTCMA)

Jean-Sébastien uses different techniques depending on the needs of the patients, TuiNa Massage, Acupuncture, Acupressure, Moxibustion, Cupping.  TCM being a holistic Medicine, it enables the practitioner to treat a great range of conditions, from common cold to pain relief or even symptoms related to more serious conditions such as cancer, stroke (helping with the side effects of modern treatments, pain relief) etc…
